Battlefield 3 will ship on two Xbox 360 discs in Japan, that’s according to a poster for the game reported by Hachimaki.

The poster states the game comes on “DVD-ROM x2″ for Xbox 360, whereas the PlayStation 3 version is packed into a single Blu-ray.

It’s not clear if this means EA and DICE will split the campaign and multiplayer elements out onto their own disc, or indeed if the information is accurate and applies to the game’s Western release.

DICE recently confirmed that Battlefield 3 won’t allow civilian casualties and that fans shouldn’t worry too much about Battlefield 3 on consoles.

Battlefield 3 will be released October 28 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Sony Reader WiFi ups the bar for eBook Readers by adding a touch screen

Posted by admin on Monday, 5 September, 2011
Among Sony’s releases at IFA is one that could put a dent in Kindle’s dominance of the eReader space – the 6-inch Sony Reader Wi-Fi. The new reader comes in at just 168 grams, two thirds of the weight of the Kindle 3 WiFi and with a host of advantages that include faster and smoother page turns, and a dual-touch touchscreen for easy zooming.

The touch screen fits well with the form factor and the swiping of a finger to turn the page, or pinching and spreading of fingers to zoom in or out seems far more natural, particularly if you have a tablet in your armory of gadgets.

You can also tap and hold on a word you don’t recognize to find its meaning and highlight text with a finger.

It comes with two English language dictionaries and ten translation dictionaries for foreign language students.

Unlike the Kindle, it won’t lock you to one on-line bookstore (Amazon for the Kindle) as the sole provider of your reading material. The Sony Reader store now carries more than 2.5 million titles, but you can buy elsewhere, and it supports the public library e-book lending service that will let you borrow books from public libraries (11,000 at last count, but only in UK, US, and Canada at this stage). It’s also cheaper and lighter than the model it replaces, but still US$10 dearer than the Kindle at US$149.

The battery life of the new Reader WiFi is somewhat less than the Kindle and indeed just about every other ereader, but then again, three weeks with WiFi on is not likely to pose too many problems unless you’re planning an intergalactic trip. If you’re accustomed to a tablet or smartphone, any ereader will delight you with its frugal power consumption.

The internal capacity of 2GB isn’t a lot compared to other eBook readers, but is easily supplemented via the microSD card slot in case you want to supplement your reading with music or photos or audi books, which tend to take up a lot more space than eBooks.

The Reader Wi-Fi comes in red, white and black and will be available in the U.K., Germany and Austria in October.

Control Strategy of Convertors

Posted by admin on Tuesday, 26 July, 2011

As is known to us all that a convertor can transform the information generated by the source according to a certain purpose. With the rapid development of electronic technology, many practical products have appeared in the worldwide. As a new type of AC – AC power convertors, matrix convertors are becoming more and more popular among the users.

Compared with traditional convertors, matrix convertors have more advantages. For example, they can be used for four-quadrant operation. They have excellent input current waveform, output voltage waveform and the power factors which are free to control.

Most of the people may not know that VRS convertors have a variety of control strategies. For example, a direct conversion method, a current tracking method and a indirect transformation method. The direct conversion method can be divided into the coordinate transformation method, harmonic injection method, equivalent conductivity method and the scalar method. All of these methods have certain advantages. The current tracking method has the characteristics of easy to understand, simple to realize and fast response. However, it also has a number of disadvantages. For example, its switching frequency is not stable enough, the harmonics distribute randomly, the input current waveform is not ideal, and so on. The indirect transformation method is a control strategy which is frequently studied and more mature in the matrix convertor. Most of the all, it is the most promising control strategy.
With an in-depth research, the convertors must bring more convenience to people’s life.

A Waterproof Wrist Watch with The Function of GPS

Posted by admin on Friday, 15 July, 2011

As is known to us all that GPS is short for Global Positioning System. At first, GPS was a new generation of space satellite navigation and positioning system which was developed by the U.S. armed forces in the 1970s. However, with the development of scientific technology, GPS has been widely applied to many fields of the social life.

Recently, I have been considering buying a GPS device for my personal travel and outdoor adventure. So, two weeks ago, I read the website of VRS carefully. To my surprise, there were so many GPS devices that I couldn’t choose one. These gadgets had unique styles, cheap prices and beautiful appearances. I was deeply attracted by all of them. After repeated selection, I ordered a waterproof wrist watch with the function of GPS. It cost me 156.16 dollars. As they said, I received my order through free shipping. It looks very good.

Last weekend, my friends and I went hiking. Naturally, I was wearing the wrist watch with the function of GPS. My friend and I had been walking along the mountain trails for a long time. At the same time, we enjoyed the natural scenery along the way. Beautiful villages, open fields, fragrant flowers and so on, all these had left a deep impression on us. With the help of GPS, we didn’t need to worry about losing our way. It could work very well.

You’ll Like LED flashlights

Posted by admin on Monday, 11 July, 2011

Flashlight is a kind of hand-held electronic lighting tools. A typical flashlight has a battery-powered light bulb, a focusing mirror and a hand-held housing.
In recent years, more and more flashlights have been using LEDs instead of traditional bulbs. LEDs have been invented for a few decades. In 1999, Lumileds Company which is located in San Jose, California invented high-energy white light-emitting diodes. In 2001, Arc Flashlight Company applied the halogen to flashlights. LEDs can save more power than conventional bulbs. So the battery life of LED flashlight is longer, even up to hundreds of hours. LED flashlight is made up of multivessel diodes, its color temperature is high. People may find that it’s very light, which is its characteristic. At the same time, LED flashlights can save energy. They have small appearances and can resist wind, rain and corrosion. So they are very suitable for outdoor use. But the biggest disadvantage of this product is that irradiation distance is very small.

As is known to us all that the function of LED flashlights is very strong. Firstly, they can save more energy and has a longer life. Secondly, they can change a lot. Under the control of computer technology, LED light source can make use of red, green, blue trichromatic theory to make three colors with 256 levels of gray and mix each other. The different combinations of light and color change a lot to achieve a variety of effects and images. Thirdly, vrs flashlights are benefit to environmental protection. They don’t generate much heat or radiation. The waste from them can be recycled. Lastly, LED flash lights adopt advanced technology. LED light source is a low voltage microelectronic product. The successful integration of computer technology, network communication technology, image processing and embedded control technology makes LED flashlight be a digital information product.

For consumers, how to choose a good flashlight is very necessary. Generally speaking, we can choose a good flashlight through watching its battery, bulb, aperture, brightness, waterproof and appearance. As long as we follow these rules, we can certainly choose a high-quality flashlight.

Netflix sheds light on benefits of HTML5 for apps

Netflix hopes that HTML5 will allow for better user experiences with its iOS and Android apps.
In a blog posting, Netflix’s VP of Personalization Technology John Ciancutti outlines reasons for embracing HTML5 as the technology of choice to run his company’s mobile and console apps and what that decision means for customers.

You may recall, back in October, Netflix began to offer disc-free streaming on the Playstation 3 through an app installed on the console. What many people probably didn’t notice is that app and the accompanying user interface were written solely in HTML5 using a customized port of Webkit.

The decision to use HTML5, Netflix says, allowed its engineers to construct an app that masquerades as a native program, hiding the truth that it’s actually a Web-based app. “That’s what HTML5 brings to the table, the freedom to create rich, dynamic and interactive experiences for any platform with a web browser, ” Ciancutti says. “In fact, we’re also using HTML5 to create the user experience for our iPhone, iPad and Android applications as well.”

What else does HTML5 have to offer? It’s easy to modify and experiment with, Netflix says. A big part of Netflix’s success hinges on its ability to find new ways to keep hooking up customers with movies and TV shows that they will enjoy. That means Netflix is frequently changing both its back end and front end setups making sure that finding content is increasingly easy for subscribers.

By being based entirely on the host-side servers, HTML5 makes implementing those changes appear seamless to users. As Ciancutti puts it, “our customers don’t have to go through a manual process to install new software every time we make a change, it ‘just happens.’”

Expect the HTML5-powered Netflix app to arrive on your iOS and Android devices sometime in the near future.

Windows Phone 7 finally came, with the October 11 conference in New York, Microsoft ended, a part of Microsoft’s new mobile phone history is about to be opened. The time before and after three years, from the beginning of exposure until the MWC this year on the Microsoft conference, and then today we get this product will be real in their own hands, and we waited a total of three years. Hard to imagine that three years which occurred in the field of our mobile phones how far, people on the phone in the function demand experienced a kind of innovation, but Microsoft, the PC software giant still insist that their own ideas determined to go down. Windows Phone 7 people for the period produced a variety of views, Windows Phone 7 are based on the user’s own development and continuous changes in the amendment to our own road, development is slow, there is no innovation have become the people are not optimistic for the Windows Phone 7 important reasons. However, only Windows Phone 7 that his mission will not change. Read the rest of this entry »
